The new USB-C connector is not only for first generation USB 3.1! The CM-U2CMCM-18 is an 18 inch USB 2.0 cable with a Type-C male connector on both ends (male to male). Following the USB 2.0 standard specifications, this cable is capable of up to 480Mbps data transfer speeds.

Because the CM-U2CMCM-18 cable incorporates the new Type-C connector at both ends, this cable presently will only connect to a Type-C laptop or desktop Type-C receptacle, or device port.

The new Type-C connectors are not only for higher versions of the USB Specification, the Type-C is becoming a new standard in the way we connect to our peripheral or host devices.
