Our IDE-SATA04 SATA Hard Drive Adapter is a Native SATA Drive to IDE 40-pin Adapter for most enclosures needing a SATA to IDE Converter. The SATA Hard Drive Adapter converts a SATA Drive to IDE, a perfect solution for converting SATA or SATA II devices to IDE ATA 40-Pin UDMA-133/100 interfaces.

JMicron JM20330 chip-set and supports 3.5″ IDE hard drives and 5.25″ optical drives. It’s compliant with IDE specification and supports up to UDMA/133 drives!

Chip Overview:

JM20330 is a single chip solution for serial and parallel ATA translation. It includes the Serial ATA PHY, Link, Transport, and Parallel ATA (application layer) controller. The Serial ATA physical, link, and transport layers are compliant to Serial ATA 1.0 JM20330 supports a 1.5GHz data rate, and scalable to 3.0 GHz data rate by directly doubling the internal clock source.

The application layer supports both the ATA register command set and PACKET command set, which could drive both Hard Disk Drive and ATAPI Optical Storage such as CR-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RW, etc. The Serial ATA and the Parallel ATA application layer support both host and device operation and can be configured through a single pin.

Bought this a while ago and thank God it was sitting out in my sight when I needed it to rebuild an old server. Was trying to plug new SATA drive into an old IDE Dell Optiplex tower.

Couldn’t get to work at first but chat session appeared on this page and Luke instructed me to remove jumper and make master. Worked great after that. Back up and running. Very easy to use.

finally got the Adapter today. It looks sturdy and strong. not like those cheap flimsy adapter board out there.connectors were made of high quality plastic and proper electrical components. and 1 yr warranty to boot unlike some of those other brands that offer 1 month.!!!

I didn’t get time to install it yet inside my tower, hoping to do it later today.

overall very good item,and guess what their tech support and sales staff definitely know what there doing.

Ordering was Quick and efficient.

very good item exactly what i needed to install a 500 Gb SATA Hard drive inside my dell tower which doesn’t have SATA ports !!!

It took me a while to get time to install (4) SATA hard drives into a legacy motherboard computer designed for PATA (IDE) hard drives. Paying attention to the jumper on the board (master/slave) I now have (4) large hard drives working on this computer. I am so happy to find this product. It was shipped immediately upon placing the order and arrived very promptly. I will order these again if more are ever needed.

This sata adapter worked flawless since the beginin on my coputer as a trail. My intentions is to used it in a Phillips DVD Recorder witn a Pata HDD to store recordings. The DVD is developing I/o errors randomly and this type of HDD are expensive and hard to find becouse they are becoming absolete. So I would like to use a Sata HDD replacing the original HDD. I am trying a 500 GB HDD but the machine did not recognized the Drive. I am getting a 250 GB and will try again. I had no time lately to do this but as soon as I do I will update with the results. Using this adapter on a PC works as intended.
